College of American Pathologists survey. A national (US) program which pools information on proficiency and productivity among clinical labs. The survey compares techniques and instruments, workload performed per technician, total number of tests performed and cost per test. The CAP’s interlaboratory comparison program is the largest in the world and satisfies the regulatory requirements of most accrediting agencies in the USA.
