Unmyelinated fibers, 0.4-1.2 mcm in diameter, conducting nerve impulses at a velocity of 0.7-2.3 m/sec.

C fibres

small, non-myelinated, free nerve endings within skin, and fibres within mixed nerves, carrying afferent pain impulses from high-threshold polymodal nociceptors; C-fibre nerve endings also secrete bradykinins, initiating or perpetuating neurogenic inflammation
