C cell
a cell type of the thyroid gland, situated between or within the walls of follicles, with numerous small membrane-limited secretory granules in the cytoplasm. The source of calcitonin. Called also parafollicular cell.

C C cell tumors
(ultimobranchial) adenomas and carcinomas occur most frequently in aged bulls, associated with vertebral osteophytes, osteosclerosis, ankylosis and spondylosis. Believed to be associated with the long-term intake of a diet high in calcium.
