Bunge [bun´je]
Helen L. (1906–1970). Nursing educator and researcher who served as Dean of the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Western Reserve University and later as executive officer of the Institute for Research and Services at Teachers College, Columbia University. As chairperson of the Committee on Research of the American Association of Collegiate Schools of Nursing, she helped to launch Nursing Research, of which she was editor and chairperson of the editorial board. She was a strong supporter of nursing research, believing that research is an integral part of nursing, not a field isolated from teaching and practice.
