Immobilization of fingers or toes adjacent to one that is fractured or otherwise injured; BT is used for injuries of the proximal interphalangeal joint with incomplete collateral ligament tearing, where the affected finger is taped to an adjacent ‘buddy’ and immobilized for 2 weeks or more if there is also distal dislocation
