adjective Referring to dilated, smooth-contoured, cyst-like or ballooned—occasionally loculated—space(s); formally, physaliferous spaces.

Imaging-bone
Referring to an expansile, often eccentric, vaguely trabeculated space with a thin, sclerotic, sharply defined margin, which is characteristic of an aneurysmal bone cyst (ABC); other bone lesions with soap-bubble-like expansions include giant cell tumour, osteosarcoma, solitary bone cyst, non-ossifying fibroma, fibrous dysplasia, metastatic malignancy, chondromyxoid fibroma, “combined” stage of Paget’s disease of bone, expansile mandibular lesions of cherubism and metastatic renal cell carcinoma. Radiologic findings of “punched-out” lytic lesions of bone (e.g., in myeloma, angiosarcoma, ameloblastoma) have been described as soap-bubble-like.
