A muscle with its origin in the lateral supracondylar ridge of the humerus, with insertion to the front of the base of the styloid process of the radius, with nerve supply from the radial nerve, and whose action flexes the forearm.

brachioradialis
[-rā′dē·al′is]
the most superficial muscle on the radial side of the forearm. It functions to flex the forearm.

Patients with upper trunk brachial plexopathies may have clinical examination findings of sensory impairments following the C5-6 dermatomes, biceps brachii and brachioradialis muscle stretch reflex abnormalities, and weakness of C5-6 innervated muscles with sparing of the serratus anterior, rhomboid, and paraspinal muscles.
[5] Asaka et al[10] described an abscess around the elbow joint and between the biceps brachii and brachioradialis muscles in a patient with tuberculous arthritis.
The resultant criterion values required that biceps brachii muscle activity be greater than 10 [mu]V and that brachioradialis muscle activity be greater than 15 [mu]V.
