A condition affecting young adults, and seen on the thenar eminence of those participating in various sports—e.g., climbing, gymnastics, golfing, tennis, weight lifting, and others; BP is caused by lateral shearing stress of epidermis against the rete pegs of the papillary dermis, resulting in rupture of capillaries, and intraepidermal and intracorneal hemorrhage which translate into multiple symmetrical black spots
