The use of biological agents, such as pathogenic organisms or agricultural pests, for terrorist purposes.

Bioterrorism
The intentional use of disease-causing microbes or other biologic agents to intimidate or terrorize a civilian population for political or military reasons. Type A influenza virus could be used as an agent of bioterrorism.

Los Angeles County's bioterrorism preparedness program has made considerable progress since 2001, but bureaucratic and political obstacles and wasteful spending remain, a national panel of experts said in a report released Monday.
We conducted a systematic review of the scientific literature from 1966 to 2005 to determine whether animals could provide early warning of a bioterrorism attack, serve as markers for ongoing exposure risk, and amplify or propagate a bioterrorism outbreak.
