It is established that the rubber transferase is firmly associated with the monolayer biomembrane that surrounds each rubber particle (refs. All the wastewater from the plant's sanitary installations and industrial processes is purified in a centrally located biological clarification plant using biomembranes that clean waste through a filtration system to strict European drinking water standards. The water-swellable polyelectrolyte acts as a support for the biomembrane, not unlike the cytoskeletal support found in mammalian cell membranes. |
