In one of the largest pediatric asthma studies ever conducted for a beta-agonist (n = 338), the safety and efficacy of levalbuterol inhalation solution were evaluated at dosage strengths of 0. While all of the patients used beta-agonist inhalers - drugs that widen a person's airways and make it easier to breathe - when needed, the 103 patients who received zafirlukast were less likely to use their inhalers.
