benzyl /ben·zyl/ (ben´zil) the hydrocarbon radical, C7H7.
benzyl benzoate  one of the active substances in peruvian and tolu balsams, and produced synthetically; applied topically as a scabicide.

benzyl benzoate
[benzō′āt]
a clear, oily liquid with a pleasant, pervasive aroma. It is used as an agent to destroy lice and scabies, as a solvent, and as a flavor for gum.

the hydrocarbon radical, C7H7 or C6H5CH2-, found in benzyl alcohol and various other compounds.

Chemicals used on carpets and upholstery which are known to kill dust mites include benzyl benzoate, permethrin, pirimiphos methyl, phenyl salicylate, tannic acid, common household disinfectants, combinations of these, and insect growth regulators.
Benzyl Benzoate ( This helps to stabilise and maintain fragrance but side effects include skin irritation.
