A trial assessing the effects of lovastatin on coronary angiographic findings in patients with coronary artery disease with several substudies Conclusion Lovastatin lowered total cholesterol level by 32%, LDL cholesterol by 38% and apolipoprotein B by 26%, and raised HDL cholesterol by 8.5%. Non-significant improvement in coronary artery stenosis occurred in lovastatin patients. Lovastatin significantly lowered apoB, apoC-III, apoE, and slightly increased apoA-I.
