The book includes far more information than that provided in most climbing area guides, including what gear is needed for the climb, dealing with sun or shade (an important consideration in the desert), how popular the route is, suggested belay stations, the approach and descent.
If this is your primary motive, look for a wall that has the maximum amount of belay stations and meets your aesthetic needs.
