1. The jugular pulse occurring in tricuspid insufficiency of the heart.

2. An indication of pericarditis with effusion in which the dullness of sound generated upon percussion at the angle of the scapula disappears as the patient leans forward.

Etymology: Heinrich Bamberger, Austrian physician, 1822-1888

1 a neural disorder characterized by the feeling of a tactile stimulation at a corresponding point on the opposite side of the body (known as allochiria).

2 pericardial effusion signs at the level of the scapula that disappear when the patient leans forward.
