A woman with PPD may have feelings similar to the baby blues -- sadness, despair, anxiety, irritability -- but she feels them much more strongly than she would with the baby blues.
Women who are used to being in control, having things mapped out and being emotionally stable can't make any sense of the baby blues and it's important for them to realise that they should pass after a few days.
Baby Blues remains a gem among comic strips, both in that its characters are permitted to age with the passage of time, and in that it remains as fresh, funny, and all-too-insightful of the human condition as it was in its inception.
