BBPPBeta-Blocker Pooling Project. A survey that collected and analysed data from major long-term secondary prevention trials to identify subsets of post-AMI patients who might benefit from beta-blocker therapy.
Pooled data from 9 trials with 13, 679 patients.
Mortality was 24% lower with beta-blockers (7 different beta-blockers were used in different trials) than with placebo in patients with a history of previous MI, angina, mechanical or electrical complications, and digitalis usage.
