British Association for Emergency Medicine. A body which began life as the Casualty Surgeons Association in 1967, was later renamed British Association for Accident and Emergency Medicine, then British Association for Emergency Medicine and merged with the Faculty of Emergency Medicine of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2008; it is now known as the College of Emergency Medicine.
