Another insecticide commonly used in apple and cherry orchards - azinphos-methyl, or AZM - has been challenged in court by farm worker organizations who contend it's sickening workers.
The HSRB (2006) concluded that studies of seven pesticides [aldicarb, amitraz, azinphos-methyl, dichlorvos (DDVP), ethephon, methomyl, and oxamyl] "failed to fully meet the specific ethical standards prevalent at the time the research was conducted .
The rule also lowers the annual maximum allowable application rates of azinphos-methyl that farmers can use per acre.
