After again maximizing dosing with no response, many would turn to atomoxetine (Strattera), a nonstimulant, which might not have the efficacious power of the stimulants but is still considered a very useful medication in some patients.
Other types of medicine sometimes used to treat ADD include atomoxetine, known as Stratera; buproprion, known as Wellbutrin; clonidine, known as Catapres; imipramine, known as Tofranil; and desipramine, known as Norpramin.
Stimulants Examples of stimulants that are commonly abused include methylphenidate, amphetamine/dextroamphetamine, and atomoxetine.
