atovaquone /ato·va·quone/ (ah-to´vah-kwōn) an antibiotic used in treatment of mild to moderate pneumonia and the prophylaxis and treatment of falciparum malaria. atovaquone [ah-to′vah-kwōn] an antibiotic used in treatment of mild to moderate Pneumocystis pneumonia and the prevention and treatment of falciparum malaria.
