arcus /ar·cus/ (ahr´kus) pl. ar´cus [L.] arch; bow. arcus adipo´sus , arcus cor´neae, arcus juveni´lis a white or gray opaque ring in the margin of the cornea, sometimes present at birth, but usually occurring bilaterally in persons of 50 years or older as a result of cholesterol deposits in or hyalinosis of the corneal stroma.
