linea arcuata,
the curved tendinous band in the sheath of the rectus abdominis below the umbilicus. It is usually derived from the aponeurosis of the transversus abdominis or the obliquus internus, and sometimes from both of those muscles. It inserts into the linea alba. Compare linea semilunaris.
