n.
Any of several small processes or sacs of peritoneum, generally distended with fat and projecting from the serous coat of the large intestine. Also called epiploic appendage.

epiploic appendix,
one of the fat pads, 2 to 10 cm long, scattered through the peritoneum along the colon and the upper part of the rectum, especially along the transverse and sigmoid colon.
