Anitschkow cell large mononuclear cells with an undulating, ribbon-like formation of nuclear chromatin. These 'caterpillar cells' are found in myocardium and thought to be macrophages or attempts at myofiber regeneration. Called also Anitschkow myocytes. How to thank TFD for its existence?
