ragweed [rag′wēd] Etymology: ME, ragge, rag + AS, weod, herb, grass, weed any of various species of plants of the genus Ambrosia whose pollen can cause hay fever. ragweed, n Latin names: Ambrosia artemisifolia, Ambrosia trifida.
