glycoprotein found in saliva, tears, colostrum; present in blood plasma but does not cross placental barrier of animals, collecting instead in the maternal colostrum. Called also IgA.

Alpha 1 -fetoprotein Alpha 1 -fetoprotein (AFP) is one of the first alpha-globulins to appear in female serum during development of the embryo, and it is the dominant serum protein in early embryonic life.
Angiotensinogen is a serum alpha-globulin that is synthesized in the liver.
