ADRA1A

A gene on chromosome 8p21.2 that encodes alpha-1A-adrenergic receptor, a member of the G protein-coupled receptor superfamily, which activates a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system, triggering mitogenic responses and regulating growth, proliferation and signalling through the Gq/11 family of G proteins. ADRA1A is also an older gene name for what is formally known as ADRA1D, see there.
