The Akita, or Akita Inu hails from the Akita region of Japan where they breed has been revered for centuries.
In the Utility group, the Japanese Akita Inu is described by organisers as "a large, upstanding, dignified dog, devoted and protective towards his owners, he is also very affectionate".
