ad·vanced life support (d-vnst)
n.
Emergency medical care for sustaining life, including defibrillation, airway management, and drugs and medications.

advanced life support (ALS),
a higher level of emergency medical care, usually provided by EMT-intermediates or paramedics. Typically ALS includes invasive techniques such as IV therapy, intubation, and/or drug administration.

The DWC students presented four advanced life support workshops to an audience of about 40 doctors, nurses and other health care professionals from the GCC.
