RUNX3(redirected from Acute myeloid leukaemia 2 protein)
RUNX3A gene on chromosome 1p36 that encodes a member of the runt domain-containing family of transcription factors. A heterodimer of RUNX3 and a beta subunit form a complex found in a number of enhancers and promoters, and together either activate or suppress transcription. RUNX3 is a tumour suppressor which also interacts with other transcription factors.
RUNX3 deletion or transcriptional silence may be associated with cancer.
