The newsletter carries abstracts and commentary from a variety of medical journals on such topics as: safety, infection control and quality improvement practices; diagnosis and treatment of acute illness in a hospital setting; and, diagnostic and therapeutic models for common inpatient problems. Students will be able to choose from a range of papers, eg children in context, management of children with acute illness, chronic illness and disability in childhood, primary health care, mother and baby nutrition and/or use a special topic paper to follow an area of specialist child health practice. Short-term medical treatment, usually in a hospital, for patients having an acute illness or injury or recovering from surgery. |
