transglutaminase /trans·glu·tam·in·ase/ (trans?gloo-tam´in-as) an enzyme, formed by cleavage and activation of protransglutaminase, which forms stabilizing covalent bonds within fibrin strands. It is the activated form of coagulation factor XIII.
