Acholeplasma a genus of the class Mollicutes and very closely related to the genus Mycoplasma. Acholeplasma laidlawii a common isolate in the lungs of calves with enzootic pneumonia but of doubtful significance. Acholeplasma oculi is a common finding in the conjunctivae of sheep with contagious ophthalmia but the bacteria have not been proven to be pathogenic in this situation.
