ATLS is the brainchild of Shropshire entrepreneur, Peter Riches.
Kaufmann acknowledged that the UAE has made huge strides in this field and was on hand to award the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) achievement award to the UAE's ATLS programme and its leaders.
The groups voted to adopt the ATLS scheme and a loyalty card which shoppers could take into independent retail stores signed up to the scheme, to encourage greater footfall into town centres and return visits to independent retailers.
