anus (a´nus) pl. a´ni   the opening of the rectum on the body surface; the distal orifice of the alimentary canal.
imperforate anus  persistence of the anal epithelial plug so that the anus is closed, either completely or partially.

The opening at the lower end of the alimentary canal through which solid waste is eliminated from the body. Also called anal orifice, fundament.
