These dentists are generally familiar with TMJ problems--which is the most complicated part of treating patients with oral appliances--and they have access to educational programs through the AACP on oral appliance therapy.
Based on data from the 2002-03 AACP faculty database, 58% of full-time female faculty members were in non-tenure track appointments, compared to 28% of men.
While the AACP guidelines note that some herbal remedies may interfere with chemotherapy, they add that other therapies, such as acupuncture, may help with pain and other symptoms.
