A68, symbol for a protein found in the brain tissue of patients with Alzheimer's disease. It is also found in the developing normal brains of fetuses and infants but begins to disappear by the age of 2 years. It is a major subunit of paired helical filaments and derivatized forms of tau protein. See also tau protein. Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore and her colleagues report the
first identification of a protein called A68 in the brains of old
monkeys.
(LNO), an independent association of more than 140 leading automation
companies, is located in Hall 9, Stand A68. Davies
says A68 distribution in the immature brain is similar to the
distribution of cells that are known to die during periods of programmed
killing. |
