6-phos·pho·glu·co·no·lac·to·nase

(fos'fō-glū'kŏ-nō-lak'tō-nās),
A hydrolase that catalyzes the hydrolysis of 6-phospho-d-glucono-δ-lactone to produce 6-phospho-d-gluconate; this enzyme is a part of the pentose phosphate shunt.
