a furanoterpene produced in sweet potatoes (Ipomoea batatus) by the fungus Fusarium solani (F. javanicum) which has the effect of damaging pulmonary epithelium and producing lesions characteristic of atypical interstitial pneumonia in cattle which consume moldy sweet potatoes. The toxin is produced from furanosesquiterpenoid phytoallexins.
