ketosteroid /ke·to·ster·oid/ (ke″to-ster´oid) a steroid having ketone groups on functional carbon atoms. The 17-ketosteroids, found in normal urine and in excess in certain tumors and in congenital adrenal hyperplasia, have a ketone group on the 17th carbon atom and include certain androgenic and adrenocortical hormones.
